Farsi lesson No.1: noon (bread - in this case tanoor bread), paneer (cheese - feta), sabzi (herbs/greens- basil, mint, dill, & parsley).
These are staples in my house hold. If we run out of either of the three, it means either (a) we had guests over late the night before or (b) my mother must have been kidnapped (*knocks on wood).
We even have a song dedicated to all three items.
It’s really a poetic metaphor for a bunch of Iranian cultural concepts I won’t go into now, but believe me, its deep.
